Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of English and World Languages is in needoftemporary, part-time instructors to teach major courses and courseswithin our General Education program. Temporary, part-timeinstructors are also at times needed to fill in for faculty onsabbaticals or leaves.

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarshipand service commensurate with the assignment.

The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool ofqualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an asneeded basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualificationsmay be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a needexists. In the event that you are interviewed but not hired, yourapplication will remain in the departments pool of qualifiedfaculty.

Temporary, part-time instructor responsible for teaching writingcourses such as Introduction to College Writing, AdvancedComposition, Business Writing, Technical Writing, Science Writing,and Web Writing & Content Development. We also have need fortemporary, part-time instructors to teach courses in literature,film studies, and English Education. Up to three courses persemester possible with potential for summer teaching asneeded.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or relateddiscipline.
  • Prior experience teaching course content or relatedcontent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD or ABD in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or relateddiscipline.
  • Evidence of teaching in online environments.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
