Sonesta Hotels International Corporation is seeking a Utility (Kitchen Steward) for temporary Finance needs in New York. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across kitchen and dishwashing areas, operating dishwashing equipment, and assisting with basic food prep as needed.

The ideal candidate will be able to communicate in basic English, handle physical tasks in a fast-paced environment, and comply with sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in basic English.
• Physically able to lift, bend, stand and perform manual tasks.
• Familiarity with sanitation procedures and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Pre-wash items, load/unload machines, and inspect cleanliness of wares.
• Hand-wash kitchen equipment and sanitize surfaces.
• Restock cleaned wares and keep workstations organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and service areas.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Clean and maintain garbage areas and use cleaning chemicals per safety guidelines.
• Support basic food prep and banquet setup as needed.
• Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
