Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation in New York is seeking a dishwashing attendant to maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, operate dishwashing machines, and support basic food prep. Qualifications

• Familiarity with sanitation procedures and chemical handling.
• Sanitation certification or knowledge of a second language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Pre-wash items, load/unload machines, and inspect cleanliness of wares.
• Hand-wash kitchen equipment and sanitize surfaces.
• Restock cleaned wares and keep workstations organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and service areas.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Clean and maintain garbage compactor and trash areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment per safety guidelines (OSHA).
• Support basic food prep and banquet setup as needed.
• Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
• Report on maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Store Ecolab solutions and cleaning supplies properly upon delivery.

What this role is all about

The Utility plays a key role in delivering Sonesta's mission of providing exceptional service to both guests and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality ,maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and dishwashing areas. Operate dishwashing equipment, clean and organize kitchenware and equipment, handle trash removal, and assist with basic food prep and special cleaning projects as needed.

Qualifications

Expected Hours of Work Flexibility to work variable days, including weekends and holidays, is required. Flexibility to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights) is essential.

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

Hourly compensation range is $31.10 - $32.97. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and specific/overall experience.
