Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Steward to support our culinary team. You will clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a safe, orderly work area.

The role involves standing for long periods, working in a hot environment near the dish machine, and following strict safety and sanitation guidelines. Previous kitchen experience and flexibility for shifts are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong attention to detail and be highly organized.
• Able to manage time effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
• Capable of working quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
• Must tolerate high heat and chemical cleaning agents.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine, clean and sanitize pots, pans, china, glassware, flatware, and kitchen equipment.
• Store cleaned items in proper locations to minimize breakage.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and other assigned areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash properly.
• Serve food for the Employee Cafeteria as directed by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
