Job summary

State of Oklahoma's Oklahoma Military Department is seeking a Temporary Food Service Specialist-1 to perform daily food preparation for the Sooner Job Challenge program. The role supports serving three meals per day, seven days a week, and requires maintaining clean and sanitary preparation and serving areas in accordance with master menu directions.

This is a part‑time, temporary position with a maximum of 29 hours per week and up to 999 hours or one year, whichever comes first.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months in a commercial or institutional food service operation or equivalent.
• Valid Oklahoma Driver’s license and ability to obtain a Food handler’s permit
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds

Responsibilities

• Prepares foods, salads, and desserts under supervision.
• Cleans and prepares foods using knives, slicers, peelers, ovens and steamers.
• Follows written orders including recipes and dietary instructions.
• Operates dishwasher and floor buffers as required.
• Maintains records and prepares required reports.
• Attends staff meetings and training as scheduled
