Job summary

The Oklahoma Military Department is seeking a Food Service Specialist to handle daily food preparation for the Sooner Job Challenge program, serving up to three meals daily, seven days a week. The role requires following recipes and dietary instructions, maintaining sanitation, and supporting meal service for students and cadre.

Responsibilities include using professional kitchen equipment, labeling and storing food, and assisting with records and reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months in a commercial or institutional food service operation or equivalent experience.
• Ability to follow written orders, recipes and dietary instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and work on feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods, salads and desserts under supervision, and cook or bake per the master menu.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, slicers and dishwashers; maintain clean and sanitary work areas.
• Label, load and deliver food; assist with serving meals for students and staff; maintain records as required.
