Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Temporary Facilities Engineer Intern to support the Griffin Campus Facilities Management team with daily tasks and projects. This role offers hands-on learning, exposure to project management, and experience in facilities operations that contribute to the university's mission.

The internship runs with a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30am–4:30pm). Start anticipated on 03/31/2025, with background checks and credential verification as part of the employment

Position Summary

This position will assist the Griffin Campus Facilities Management team with daily tasks and projects, have an opportunity to learn from professionals, gain practical experience, develop an understanding of how to manage and operate facilities, and work on meaningful projects that contribute to our mission.

Responsibilities

• Work with maintenance staff in system troubleshooting, resolving facilities operation problems and repairs (50%)
• Assist in coordinating construction activities and schedules, participate in meetings and provide updates on project status (25%)
• Work on special projects, new designs and prepare drawings (15%)
• Research file drawings and project files, perform other duties as assigned (10%)

• Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities
• Conscientious self‑starter with good organizational skills

Physical Demands

Lifting and carrying 50 pounds.
