Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Facilities Office Assistant in the Housing-Facilities-Admin department to support on-campus residents by expediting maintenance and building services work requests.

This 0.50 FTE student role requires enrollment at least half-time, maintaining good standing, and adherence to work-hour limits. Duties include assisting with admin tasks, arranging access for contractors, and creating work orders in AIM, with occasional driving.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of Georgia at least half-time when classes are in session.
  • Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
  • May not exceed 20 hours of work per week across all student staff positions.
  • May not work more than 6 consecutive hours per shift.

  • Have a solid understanding of the housing campus layout and property numbers.
  • Assist with administrative duties and create training material for Residential Program Services facilities staff.
  • Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas; assist the work control manager and work-control assistant with key control for contractors and vendors needing access to buildings.
  • Create work orders in AIM.
  • Clean, wash and maintain UGA vehicles and LSVs.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Position Summary

The Housing Department Facilities Office Assistant helps on‑campus residents maintain a high quality of life by expediting maintenance and building services work requests to get them resolved quickly.

Responsibilities
  • Develop extensive knowledge of maintenance‑related tasks and delegate these tasks to the right staff member in an appropriate, timely manner.
  • Have a solid understanding of the housing campus layout and property numbers.
  • Assist with administrative duties and create training material for Residential Program Services facilities staff.
  • Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas; assist the work control manager and work‑control assistant with key control for contractors and vendors needing access to buildings.
  • Create work orders in AIM.
  • Clean, wash and maintain UGA vehicles and LSVs.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
