Temporary Emerging Markets Contract Attorney - Remote

Our client, a top financial institution with offices in Purchase, NY, is seeking an experienced attorney to provide temporary (remote) support for the Fraud & Decisioning Solutions team in the Services Organization. This role involves partnering with product and business teams to offer legal support and guidance on emerging technologies, advancing the client's technology development, and supporting program growth. You will be part of an agile team building scalable products for global markets.

Role

1. Advise product and sales teams to achieve commercial objectives and business strategies. The ideal candidate is motivated, curious, analytical, and dedicated to providing strategic legal support for innovative payment solutions. Commercial acumen and the ability to analyze product constructs and legal considerations are essential, along with knowing when to involve regulatory, privacy, and compliance experts.
2. Handle product development and support matters daily, identifying legal issues and helping navigate risks while implementing controls, policies, and processes.
3. Support the strategic development and daily operations of products and services.
4. Manage legal support related to products and solutions to meet corporate objectives.
5. Collaborate with various teams to develop and launch innovative products that meet customer needs.
6. Provide legal advice from concept through launch and beyond.
7. Ensure products and services comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
8. Address a broad range of commercial and contractual issues, including product/legal reviews, pilot agreements, licenses, and technology agreements.
9. Work closely with internal and external specialists, including regulatory, data privacy, and IP counsel.

Location, Start Date, and Term:

Ideally based in New York, with flexibility for alternative locations and remote work. The position is full-time (35 hours/week) for 8 months, starting ASAP.

Admission: Must be admitted to practice law in any US jurisdiction, with an expectation to assess NY law.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 6 years of legal experience, preferably at a law firm or in a tech, fintech, or financial services company.
• Strong academic background, licensed in New York preferred.
• Interest or experience in emerging technologies, including AI.
• Experience with commercial and technology law issues.
• Proficiency in analyzing and drafting technology contracts and understanding data privacy and IP issues.
