Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Oakland is seeking an Early Literacy Tutor to support TK through 1st grade classrooms. You will assist teachers with targeted learning activities, supervise students, and help implement scripted interventions to improve early literacy outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six or more units in Early Childhood Education or equivalent training.
• Ability to read and write English and communicate with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated teachers with development and presentation of learning activities.
• Complete daily interventions and track progress weekly.
• Lead small group activities in and outside the classroom.
• Assist with assessment tools and data collection.
• Supervise students in classrooms, on the playground, and during arrival/dismissal.
• Participate in mandatory professional development and staff training.
