Job summary

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is seeking a dependable Custodian to support custodial operations across the Nampa Campus. This temporary, part-time role requires maintaining clean, safe environments for patients, staff, and visitors at Southwest Idaho Treatment Center.

Eligible candidates will perform routine cleaning, operate cleaning equipment, and assist with special projects. This position is not eligible for telework; criminal history background check is required.

Qualifications

  • Perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial-type cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers and vacuum cleaners
  • Cleaning restrooms, bath facilities, locker rooms, swimming pools, and similar facilities
  • Moving heavy items such as tables, chairs, and bleachers
  • Repairing the equipment and related devices you operate

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform other routine cleaning duties.
  • Empty trash and recycling and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Follow established sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to instructions.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate staff.
  • May work across multiple facilities on the Nampa Campus as operational needs require.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and other custodial duties as assigned.

The Department of Health and Welfare is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented temporary Custodian to join our team at Southwest Idaho Treatment Center. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors across campus facilities. This is a temporary position supporting custodial operations across the Nampa Campus.

Southwest Idaho Treatment Center (SWITC) is a 24-hour facility and our mission is to support individuals in crisis to become stable, develop skills, and to successfully transition to the community. We employ over 100 professionals and work together to meet our mission for each client who comes to SWITC.
