Job summary

City of Fresno's PARCS department is seeking Temporary Community Recreation Assistants to plan, organize, and conduct specialized recreation and community service activities, including sports, music, science, fitness, technology, and senior programs.

Incumbents may also serve as park attendants, verify park reservations, ensure facilities and picnic areas are clean, report maintenance issues, and assist with events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 6 months of experience in a community services and recreation environment.
• CPR and First Aid certificates required within 90 days of date of hire.
• Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Driver's License may be required at time of appointment; provide proof of license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct specialized recreation and/or community service activities.
• Provide specialized workshops, classes and activities in areas including sports, music, science, fitness/nutrition, technology, special events, and senior programs.
• Serve as park attendants; verify park reservations; ensure facilities/picnic areas are clean and ready for use; report maintenance issues.
