Job summary

The Stevens & Lee Companies, a full-service law firm with 230 lawyers, seeks a Temporary Accounting Clerk in Reading, PA onsite. You will perform cash reconciliations across 100+ bank accounts and support vendor payments, client receipts, and expense processing for a 4–6 week assignment.

This role reports to the Controller, is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, and is non-exempt. Join a fast-paced finance team within a leading regional firm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; business or accounting degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of cash reconciliation experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform timely and accurate cash reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and financial institutions.
• Review client receipts and accurately post payments to client accounts.
• Verify invoices for proper documentation and approvals prior to payment.
• Process vendor payments and prioritize invoices based on payment terms.
• Prepare and coordinate check runs.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Audit and process corporate credit card expenses.
• Review and process employee expense reimbursements.
• Maintain vendor records and update vendor information as needed.
• Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries.
• Allocate expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers.
• Support additional accounting and finance projects as assigned.
