Job summary

George Fox University’s Institutional Technology (IT) Department seeks an energetic, service‑minded Temporary Computer Support Technician to provide hands‑on technical support, hardware deployment, and software troubleshooting for faculty, staff, and students across campus.

Based at the Newberg Campus, you will work with Windows, macOS, and iOS devices and assist with AI productivity tools including Gemini.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with Windows, macOS and iOS hardware, and software systems.
• Strong customer service skills for a broad range of constituents.
• Experience with deployment and configuration tools for large-scale machine deployments.
• Basic understanding of generative AI technologies and enterprise productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Deployment & Setup: Configuring, deploying, inventorying, and managing Windows and macOS devices.
• Technical Support: Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripherals.
• AI & Productivity Tool Assistance: Tier 1 support for campus AI tools and access issues.
• Service Desk Operations: Providing courteous support via phone, walk-in, and ticketing systems.
• Software Installation: Installing and updating software, plugins, and AI extensions on staff and student devices.
• Asset Tracking & Documentation: Maintaining hardware/software inventory and knowledge base entries.
• Mission Alignment: Reflecting Christian values and collaborating with a diverse campus community.
