Job summary

Axle Energy seeks a temporary Bone and Matrix Scientist to support NICHD research at the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. The role emphasizes bone biology, cell development, and molecular biology, with independent project work and collaboration across investigators.

You will perform PCR/qPCR, ELISA, and protein analyses, work with mouse models, and contribute to manuscripts and presentations. Telework may be available depending on lab needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Physiology, Cell Biology, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Ph.D. strongly preferred.
• Experience conducting independent biomedical laboratory research.
• Experience with bone tissue and bone cell development.
• Experience designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting complex scientific experiments.
• Experience working with mouse models and preparing animal study protocols.
• Experience developing manuscripts, technical reports, abstracts, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and conduct complex research experiments in bone biology.
• Perform research on bone tissue, bone cell development, physiology, and molecular biology.
• Direct and conduct high-priority projects including novel treatments.
• Develop new procedures and technologies to advance lab research.
• Evaluate new techniques, instruments, and software for SOPs.
• Collaborate with investigators and staff to interpret experiments.
• Prepare data for abstracts, manuscripts and publications.
• Train staff in lab techniques and safety procedures.
