Job summary

Axle is seeking a Temporary Bone and Matrix Scientist to join our NIH NICHD lab in Bethesda, MD. The role centers on planning and executing advanced bone biology research, including tissue and cell analyses, assay development, and data interpretation.

The position supports independent projects, collaborates with researchers, and contributes to manuscripts and presentations. Telework may be available; 40 hours/week expected in a dynamic lab environment at NIH.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Physiology, Cell Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline required.
• Ph.D. in Physiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and conduct complex research experiments.
• Perform bone tissue and bone cell development studies.
• Direct and conduct high-priority research projects.
• Develop and validate experimental assays and secondary assays.
• Analyze data and contribute to reports, abstracts, and manuscripts.
• Train staff in laboratory techniques and animal care procedures.
• Coordinate with investigators to interpret experiments and results.
• Maintain accurate electronic laboratory records.
