Job summary

Crystal Lake School District 47 seeks a Temporary Benefits Specialist to administer employee benefit programs, including insurance information maintenance, COBRA, and wellness initiatives. The role handles billing, inquiries, and education on plan options while aligning with district regulations.

The position supports the Human Resources Department and works with district teams to ensure accurate deductions and benefits, with duties spanning annual enrollment, vendor coordination, and benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two or more years experience with insurance preferred.
• Data entry and proficiency with several software programs, including Google Suite.
• Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude required.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and decision-making skills expected.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise employees and retirees regarding all insurance benefits.
• Conduct pre-retirement benefits counseling for retirees.
• Coordinate annual Open Enrollment and other insurance meetings.
• Counsel employees regarding changes to their insurance benefits due to life events.
• Act as liaison between insurance vendors, Benefits Administration software, and employees.
