Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking a Benefits Specialist to guide employees through health, dental, vision, and related benefit programs. This role ensures accurate administration, COBRA handling, and timely enrollments while coordinating with wellness vendors and managing records.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced environment. Benefits literacy and HR basics are essential.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum: High school diploma or GED with two (2) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Keep Benefits Running Smoothly: Handle day-to-day details of employee benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, workers’ comp, FMLA/LOA, and wellness programs.
• Support Wellness & Vendors: Coordinate the wellness program, collaborate with the wellness committee, and be the main contact for benefits vendors.
• Manage Benefits Administration: Oversee enrollments, updates, COBRA, and claims, along with monthly billing and plan reviews.
• Be a Go-To for Employees: Guide employees through annual enrollment, answer benefit questions, and share helpful information and training.
• Keep Records Accurate: Maintain benefits and payroll records, process employee changes, and manage FSA/HSA reporting and deposits.
