Job summary

Staffmark Group is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Clerk (AP/AR) in Costa Mesa for a short-term assignment of about three months. The role focuses on reviewing invoices, posting payments, and maintaining accurate records within a SAP environment.

The position follows a hybrid schedule: in office Monday through Thursday, remote on Fridays, with 9:00 AM–5:00 PM hours and a one-hour lunch. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate with numbers, and ready to support the finance team

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting support.
Knowledge of three-way matching and invoice approval processes.
Experience posting payments and recording cash receipts.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Available to start the last week of October and commit to the full assignment of about three months.
Reliable home internet setup for remote Fridays.

Responsibilities

Review vendor invoices for payment approval by performing three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
Post customer payments by accurately recording checks and wires received.
Post cleared checks, wires, and bank transfers to the appropriate accounts.
Help process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
Research and resolve discrepancies between invoices, payments, and bank activity.
Keep financial records and documentation accurate and organized.
Handle general administrative tasks as assigned by the finance team.
