Job summary

Baekjeong Korean BBQ in Temple City, CA is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to support a fast-paced Korean barbecue kitchen. You will set up stations, prep a variety of foods, and maintain cleanliness and organization on the line.

Experience in a high-paced kitchen and familiarity with Korean ingredients are preferred. This role offers hourly pay and tips, with benefits through the restaurant team and opportunities to grow with a dynamic crew.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or higher education preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in high-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge in various cooking ingredients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up stations and gather supplies for service.
• Prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, vegetables, and cold food items.
• Prepare sauces and garnishes for allocated station.
• Label, date, and correctly store all food items per safe procedures.
• Inform chef in advance of likely shortages.
• Prepare dishes to order.
• Set up sanitizer buckets and towels.
• Monitor line equipment for gas leaks and perform safety checks.
• Check temperatures of reach-in and walk-in coolers.
• Restock reach-in coolers and prep lunch boxes for rushes.
• Clean line equipment, grill, range and flat top surfaces.
• Wipe down rice warmers and clean underneath equipment.

Education

High School/GED or higher education preferred

1+ year(s) of experience in high-paced kitchen environment preferred

Knowledge in various cooking ingredients preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare for service
• Prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, vegetables, and cold food items
• Prepare sauces and garnishes for allocated station
• Cover, label, date, and correctly store all food items as per safe food-handling procedures
• Inform chef in advance of likely shortages
• Prepare dishes to order
• Set up sanitizer buckets and towels
• Constantly check the equipment on the line to ensure there are no gas leaks
• Temperature checks of all reach-in and walk-in coolers
• Set up rubber floor mats at station
• Tastings with team members
• Restock reach-in coolers
• Prep lunch boxes for oncoming rushes
• Clean line equipment
• Clean the grill
• Clean the range
• Clean the flat top
• Wipe down rice warmers
• Clean underneath equipment
• Change foiling lining on top of ranges
• Clean sinks of food debris and sanitize
• Disinfect prep area surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors
• Empty and wash sanitizer buckets
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School/GED or higher education preferred
• 1+ year(s) of experience in high-paced kitchen environment preferred
• Knowledge in various cooking ingredients preferred
• Familiar with the taste of authentic Korean food preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES
