Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring Warehouse Associates in Columbus, Ohio with weekly pay and opportunities for overtime. Positions involve picking, packing, loading/unloading trailers, and operating RF scanners in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The role requires at least a high school diploma (preferred) and warehouse experience; certification for powered industrial trucks is required. Safe operation and teamwork are emphasized across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of related warehouse experience required.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Learn to operate powered industrial trucks such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, including maintenance (battery changes, common issues).
• May be required to operate manual and/or automated other warehouse/manufacturing equipment (e.g., packaging line).
• Powered industrial truck certification required.
• Ability to read and do basic mathematics in English for safety/work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers; ensure scanning is completed correctly; train dock staff on new procedures; secure facility at end of shift; investigate scanning issues and housekeeping; pick and pack; check for product damage.
• Perform tasks per location policies and procedures; handle materials within transactions.
• Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions.
• Participate in workgroup and team activities to improve warehouse operations.
• Perform housekeeping in assigned area.
• Other duties as assigned.
