Ryder System, Inc. in Columbus, OH is hiring Temp to Hire Warehouse Associates to join a fast-paced team. Roles include operating forklifts, scanning with RF devices, and performing packing, loading, and picking tasks on a second shift with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of related warehouse experience required.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Operate powered industrial trucks and maintain battery and mechanicals; intermediate level.
• Operate manual or automated warehouse equipment as needed; intermediate preferred.
• Powered industrial truck certification.
• Ability to read and perform basic math in English for safety and work instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers; ensure scanning is completed correctly; train dock employees on new procedures; ensure facility security; investigate/resolve scanning issues and perform picking and packing duties; check for product damage.
• Perform tasks per location policies and procedures; handle materials within transactions.
• Perform material moves with physical/logical transactions as required.
• Participate in workgroup and team activities to improve warehouse operations.
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
• Performs other duties as assigned
