Job summary

State of Minnesota is seeking Temporary Snowplow Operators for MnDOT District 6 with multiple locations. Positions are emergency, intermittent, and may require night or weekend shifts, including overtime during snow events. CDL with tank endorsement may be required within 6 months.

Pre-employment drug testing and background checks apply. Responsibilities include snow and ice control, winter equipment prep, route inspections, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must possess English reading, writing and spoken skills.
• Experience or ability to work nights and weekends is preferred.
• Education substitution: Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepare and inspect winter equipment.
• Perform preseason snow route inspection and post storm cleanup.
• Transfer anti-icing and de-icing materials as needed.
• Install, repair, maintain, and remove snow fences and mailboxes.
• Document snow and ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Set up traffic control and notify dispatch of disabled vehicles.
