Job summary

State of Minnesota, Transportation Department, seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators for District 6A. Multiple locations across the district and shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Positions may be full‑time, part‑time, or emergency (intermittent). Requires CDL, drug testing, and Clearinghouse registration. Salary ranges apply per role and district locations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake Restriction or equivalent from another state and obtain a valid Class A CDL with no Airbrake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months of initial placement.
• Must pass pre-placement drug test for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, MDMA, MDA, MDEA and acetyl morphine (6‑AM).
• Must be registered in FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Transfers anti-icing/de-icing chemicals and handles stockpile setup.
• Install/repair/maintain snow fences and replace mailboxes.
• Maintain snow and ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Setups for traffic control and notify dispatch of disabled vehicles.
