Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast is hiring a Medical Assistant to support high-quality patient care under the supervision of the Health Center Manager and Clinic Services Supervisor. The MA will perform non-professional clinical duties, operate medical equipment, assist with patient care, and handle clerical tasks to maintain efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CMA/RMA certification preferred or must pass within one year of hire.
• Minimum one year of recent medical assisting experience preferred; EKG, vitals, venipuncture, injections experience encouraged.
• Bilingual ability in English and another language desirable.
• Certification through California Medical Board-approved organization required if CMA/RMA obtained.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in assigned Patient Care Team duties and activities.
• Administers medications via oral, parenteral, and topical routes per Provider orders.
• Performs vital signs, immunization screening, and preventative exams.
• Maintains documentation in electronic medical record and assists with patient flow.
