Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast (CHCCC) seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the Health Center Manager and Clinic Services Supervisor. The MA will perform non-professional clinical duties, operate medical equipment, assist with patient care, and help maintain workflow across sites in San Luis Obispo or Cambria.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Minimum 1 year medical assisting experience preferred; BLS/CPR may be required.
• Ability to read safety rules and operate medical equipment; bilingual skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Patient Care Team duties and activities.
• Administers medications per Provider orders; consults when unfamiliar.
• Performs vital signs, immunization screening, and basic health maintenance.
• Conducts in-house CLIA waived tests and documents results in EMR.
• Greet patients, escort to exam rooms, and monitor waiting areas.
