Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast is hiring Medical Assistants to support patient care and administrative duties under supervision of the Health Center Manager and Clinic Services Supervisor.

The role requires CMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain, and prior medical assisting experience is preferred. Expect teamwork in a fast-paced clinic with emphasis on patient comfort, immunizations, vitals, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Minimum one year of recent medical assisting experience preferred; EKG, vital signs, venipuncture, injections experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per Provider orders and consult with RN/Provider as needed.
• Perform vitals assessment and determine need for immunizations and preventive exams.
• Conduct in-house CLIA waivered tests and ensure daily quality controls.
• Greet patients, escort to exam rooms, and help manage waiting areas.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas and document immunizations and vitals in the EMR.
