Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. (CHCCC) is hiring a Medical Assistant to support Health Center Manager and Clinic Services Supervisor in delivering high-quality patient care.

The MA will perform clinical duties, operate equipment, and assist with patient care including vital signs and medication administration. Depending on site, the MA may perform clerical tasks to support workflow and patient throughput.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or CMA/RMA certification required; if CMA/RMA not yet held, ability to pass test within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in Patient Care Team duties and activities.
• Provide quality customer service using AIDET standards.
• Administer medications per Provider orders and consult with Provider or RN as needed.
• Conduct vitals, immunization assessment, and health maintenance reminders.
• Perform CLIA-waived in-house tests and maintain quality controls.
• Assist with referrals and documentation in medical records and EMR.
• Greet patients, escort to rooms, and support waiting areas during acute events.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas and adhere to safety policies.
• May act as interpreter when necessary; maintain HIPAA compliance.
