Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast (CHCCC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Health Center Manager and Clinic Services Supervisor. The MA performs clinical and clerical duties, operates medical equipment, and aids in patient care, with emphasis on efficient workflow and high-quality service.

Under supervision, the MA greets patients, records vitals and immunizations, administers medications per orders, and assists with diagnostics and lab tests while maintaining HIPAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or CMA/RMA certification required.
• 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and another language desirable.
• CPR required; California driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Patient Care Team duties.
• Provide quality customer service using AIDET standards.
• Administer medications per Provider’s orders and consult with RN/Provider as needed.
• Perform vital signs, immunization screenings, and health maintenance recommendations.
• Conduct in-house CLIA waived lab tests and ensure quality controls.
• Document immunizations, vitals, and medications in the EMR.
• Greet patients, escort to exam room, and assist in patient flow and comfort.
