Job summary

Freshly Go is seeking a Fruit Cutter Specialist to prepare fresh cut fruit at multiple store locations in California. This temporary full-time role focuses on safety, quality, and presentation while supporting merchandising and sampling efforts.

Training occurs during orientation; position ends as business needs require. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision are key for success in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Previous food prep, produce, or grocery experience preferred (not required)
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to safely use knives and food preparation tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Knowledge of fruit/vegetable handling
• Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Must take initiative and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut, slice, and package fresh fruit according to company recipes and portion standards.
• Ensure all products meet freshness, quality, and appearance standards.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (e.g., proper handwashing, glove use, temperature control).
• Properly label, date, and rotate product using standard procedures to ensure quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including equipment and prep surfaces.
• Safely operate knives, cutting tools, and food preparation equipment.
• Stock and organize the merchandising stations so they look full.
• Prepare and cut fruit/vegetables to have ready to sell.
• Promote fruit/vegetables by sampling daily.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations.
• Maintain an active Food Handler Certification.
