Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician for a temporary assignment in Franklin, Indiana. You will perform ASME welding on pressure retaining components and support installation, testing and commissioning of cryogenic equipment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year welding or construction experience, and welding certifications are preferred. Stainless steel TIG welding is a plus. This role involves long shifts, heavy lifting, travel in the US, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ years of experience in a welding, fitting, or construction capacity.
• Welding certifications (Preferred)
• Stainless Steel TIG Welding (Preferred)
• Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter

Responsibilities

• Perform ASME welding on pressure retaining and structural components per ASME VIII and B31.3 code standards. Primarily GTAW welding with the occasional use of SMAW and GMAW procedures
• Perform work in a permit entry confined space environment
• Perform all work safely and in compliance with applicable OSHA, ASME, Company and Client specifications
• Operate company and rental vehicles and equipment
• Cut, grind, and fit pipe and segments for welders
• Assist with performance of testing of pressure vessels and piping systems
• Bolt up piping assemblies
• Assist with leak detection and equipment inspections
• Assist with removal of insulation and structural components as needed to access work space
• Work off of Scaffolding and or arial work platforms as needed
• Handle basic issues and problems as they arise with the cognitive reasoning to refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
• Perform other general tasks as directed by your supervisor
• Report any near misses or injuries immediately to supervisor, HSE Manager, and Project Manager
• Be aware of all PPE and site-specific safety requirements
• Perform work under direct supervision
