Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking an independent, self-motivated technician to provide field service and technical support for cryogenic systems, with extensive travel around the United States. The role focuses on hands-on installation, testing, commissioning, and customer service at sites and on mobile equipment.

Ideal candidates have Tig welding and mechanical maintenance experience, strong communication, and the ability to read electrical and plumbing schematics.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Tig welding experience, preferably with piping.
• 2+ years mechanical experience in industrial maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills used in answering customer’s questions.
• Ability to read electrical and plumbing schematics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and continuous quality service to the customer, by phone or site visits when necessary.
• Work with manager on customer communication.
• Prepare detailed service reports.
• Maintain tools and test equipment used for commissioning/service.
• Coordinate contact with all levels of supervision.
• Troubleshoot control systems.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and use of troubleshooting tools and meters.
• Read and understand plumbing schematics.
• Coordinate, perform and report results from testing.
• Adhere to contractual service agreements per sales and customer service directives.
• Perform quality tests as instructed by work instructions, engineering, or supervisor to ensure product quality.
• Weld using MIG and/or TIG in field conditions.
• Install equipment including bulk tanks, pipe, vaporizers, skids, dosers, etc.
