Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking a Field Service Tech to deliver on-site or remote service for cryogenic equipment across the United States. You will perform welding, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, travel up to 80-100% as required, and maintain high service standards.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong communication with customers, and adherence to safety and quality procedures. A technical diploma or cert is required, with TIG welding and piping experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma/Certification required, preferably welding, maintenance, mechanic (automotive, diesel, heavy equipment) related.
• 2+ years experience in field service and maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read electrical and plumbing schematics is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and quality service to customers by phone or site visits.
• Coordinate with manager on customer communication.
• Prepare detailed service reports.
• Maintain tools and test equipment used for commissioning/service.
• Coordinate with all levels of supervision.
• Troubleshoot control systems.
• Read electrical and plumbing schematics and use troubleshooting tools.
• Coordinate, perform and report testing results.
• Adhere to contractual service agreements.
• Perform quality tests as instructed to ensure product quality.
• Weld using MIG and/or TIG in field conditions.
• Install equipment including bulk tanks, pipe, vaporizers, skids, dosers, etc.
• Utilize ISO 9000 knowledge and application standards.
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
