Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a temporary Direct Support Professional Lead to support development and monitoring of individual plans and ensure accurate documentation across client files. You will also manage medication records, safety checks, and participate in meetings and trainings in accordance with regulations.

You will work a mix of AM and PM shifts in a role that emphasizes safety, compassion, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or experience working with vulnerable populations.
• At least 1 year of experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training and CPR certification (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health certification or related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance required.
• Driver's license required with satisfactory MVR.
• Ability to read, write and use a computer.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to recognize boundaries and implement strategies to enhance service.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
• Patience, self-control, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and monitoring of individual plans.
• Monitor client files for completeness and accuracy (medication administration records, progress notes, and reports).
• Ensure a safe and secure environment by noting safety hazards and maintenance needs for site and vehicles.
• Address unsafe situations as they arise and participate in periodic meetings/trainings per regulations.
• Maintain documentation and perform record-keeping duties.

• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase up to $21.50/hour.

Job Summary:

You will ensure a safe and secure environment by noting any safety hazards and/or maintenance needs for the site and vehicles as well as address any unsafe situations that might arise. You will be required to maintain documentation, perform record keeping and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities required.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
