Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Temporary Entry Communications Technician - Enterprise Technology (UTEMPS) to install telecommunications cabling in various structures, including tight spaces, while complying with safety requirements. The role involves operating cabling equipment near high voltage and steam pipes and may require driving a UT vehicle.

Qualifications

• Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points.
• Experience in commercial construction work.
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Install Telecom cabling in new and existing structures in enclosed and cramped spaces or at heights.
• Operate mechanical and electrical equipment used in the installation of cabling in close proximity to high voltage and high pressure steam pipes.
• Complete Reports of time, materials, and other necessary items required for the assigned tasks.
• Set up and dismantle equipment.
• Operate a UT vehicle.
