Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin on UT MAIN CAMPUS seeks a Temporary Entry Communications Technician within Enterprise Technology (UTEMPS) to assist with installation of telecommunications cabling and related tasks.

This 40-hour week, 7:30 am–4:00 pm, position runs through August 31, 2027 and offers benefits eligibility. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and experience with inside plant cabling and wireless access points.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED; able to work as part of a team.
• Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points.
• Experience in commercial construction work.
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Install Telecom cabling in new and existing structures, including tight spaces and heights.
• Complete time/material reports; set up and dismantle equipment; operate UT vehicle.
