Job summary

Spherion Gainesville, FL has a local, well-established client seeking an experienced Assistant Comptroller for a 2 month assignment. This role will work closely with the finance leadership team to shape financial strategy, drive operational excellence, and support informed decision-making across the organization.

Position is temporary (2 months) with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hourly pay ranges from $31.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in general ledger reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and variances.
• Experience with year-end closing processes and deadline management.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and financial review.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Review general ledger activity for accurate recording and classification.
• Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post year-end entries and adjustments.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy.
• Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and variances.
• Compliance: Ensure transactions comply with accounting principles and policies.
• Closing Oversight: Monitor close tasks and adhere to closing schedules.
• Account Review: Reconcile cash, receivables, payables, and other accounts.
• Finance Reporting Support: Assist with year-end schedules and analyses.
