Spherion Gainesville is assisting a well-established client in Gainesville, FL to hire an Accountant for their Finance team. The role focuses on advanced accounting duties, including financial aid and grant accounting, restricted funds administration, and institutional compliance.

The ideal candidate will handle federal and state reconciliations, grant invoicing, and month-end close, with strong emphasis on reporting, regulatory compliance, and systems support.

Qualifications

• Governmental accounting experience is required.
• Experience with federal grant drawdowns and compliance reporting.
• Workday Financial Management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage governmental and grant accounting tasks for financial aid, restricted funds, and foundation accounting.
• Prepare financial reporting, month-end close, and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Oversee cash management, receivables, bank reconciliations, and deferred revenue accounting.
• Support auxiliary operations, special projects, and systems integration within the finance team.
