Leoforce is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Specialist in Houston, TX to support its finance team. You will handle day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment, focusing on accuracy and timely processing of transactions.

The role involves AP processing, AR support, month-end close, and working with ERP systems. This contract position spans approximately six months with potential for conversion to permanent status.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, AP/AR, or related finance support role
• Experience in distribution, logistics, wholesale, or another high-transaction environment preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and month-end close process
• Proficiency with an ERP or accounting system (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reconciliations)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience considered

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, three-way matching, and vendor payment runs
• Support accounts receivable by preparing customer invoices, applying cash receipts, and following up on past-due balances
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accrual support
• Maintain accurate records in the company's ERP/accounting system
• Review and process employee expense reports and corporate card transactions
• Respond to vendor, customer, and internal inquiries on billing and payment status
• Assist with audit preparation, sales tax support, and other ad hoc projects as needed
