Job summary

Ledgent is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk for a Northwest Houston location on a temp-to-hire basis. You will join a collaborative accounting team and support a growing distribution client.

Responsibilities include reviewing and processing invoices, high-volume data entry, and vendor communications. Strong Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience working within a manual accounts payable environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Review and process invoices, ensuring proper GL coding and approvals.
• Enter high-volume invoices from multiple locations.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Process weekly check runs, wire transfers, and positive pay uploads.
• Maintain vendor records and monitor daily banking activity, including ACH.
• Assist with audits, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Provide additional accounts payable support as needed.
