Job summary

Liberty FCU in Newburgh, IN is seeking a full-time Teller/Member Service Representative for the Newburgh office. You will perform deposits, withdrawals, loan and card payments, and transfers with accuracy while delivering excellent member service.

As the MSR, you will greet members, promote bank products, maintain confidentiality, and assist with cash handling and vault duties. Hiring flexibility includes Saturdays and occasional travel to other offices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 18+ years of age.
• Flexible schedule with potential travel to other office locations.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform heavy lifting.
• 1–2 years of cash handling experience.
• Banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Member Service Representative (MSR).
• Handle deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, transfers, and shared branching transactions with high accuracy.
• Identify potential fraud and protect member information.
• Cross-sell products and services while meeting branch goals.
• Assist with night drop and vault duties; balance cash machines.
• Answer member inquiries by phone and greet customers in person.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow security procedures; complete required compliance training.

Teller/Member Service Representative

Full Time Clerical NEWBURGH OFFICE, Newburgh, IN, US

Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking a full-time Member Service Representative/Teller for the Newburgh Office located at 7697 Park Place Drive, Newburgh, IN. Candidates must possess excellent member service skills, professionalism and confidentiality. Previous financial institution experience is preferred. The Newburgh Office hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays on a rotating basis.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Serve as a primary Member Service Representative (MSR).
  • Meet member needs by maintaining knowledge of all company products and services.
  • Run various member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, transfers, and shared branching transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Determine acceptability of negotiable items and place holds on deposited funds when applicable.
  • Learn to identify potential fraud situations and take appropriate action to help protect the member and the Credit Union.
  • Learn to recognize member’s needs and recommend appropriate products and services while providing quality member service.
  • Strive to balance cash drawer each day.
  • Strive to meet MSR cross sell goals and work to support all branch goals and initiatives.
  • Assist with processing night drop.
  • Assist in balancing branch cash machines.
  • Answer member telephone inquiries.
  • Assist with vault duties as needed.
• Represent the Credit Union to the members in a friendly, positive, and professional manner greeting members as they enter the branch.
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of company policies and procedures related to the MSR duties, including security and information technology security.
• Complete all required compliance training.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and security when dealing with member information and agree to shred all papers with confidential information.
• Prepare all daily work items for transfer to the appropriate departments.

Qualifications:

• Must have a HS diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel to other office locations when needed.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and do some heavy lifting.
• Must have 1-2 years of cash handling experience.
• Banking experience preferred.
