Job summary

Montana Disaster and Emergency Services seeks a State Emergency Coordination Center (SECC) Coordinator to join the Response Bureau in Helena. You will monitor information sources, support situation reports, track requests for assistance, and coordinate with state agencies and National Guard partners to ensure timely, well-documented support to incidents.

The role also involves developing procedures, plans, and job aids, plus training and readiness activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, or related field.
• Four years of professional work experience in emergency management.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Monitor information sources and maintain status boards during incidents.
• Coordinate with state agencies, local jurisdictions, and National Guard partners.
• Develop SECC procedures, response plans, and job aids when not activated.
• Support training, exercises, and readiness assessments, and assist with documentation tracking.
