Job summary

State of Missouri Department of Public Safety in Jefferson City is seeking an Emergency Management professional to lead ESF-6 activities, oversee CERT programs, and coordinate disaster response with voluntary and faith-based partners.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel across the state for trainings and events. Competitive benefits are provided by the State of Missouri.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with emergency management and public safety context.
• Ability to develop and deliver trainings and public presentations.
• Ability to travel within the state.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and sustainment of COADs and LTRCs within assigned SEMA Regions.
• Serve as EHS lead or support for MOVOAD and The Partnership, plus others as assigned.
• Foster relationships with voluntary organizations, faith-based groups, and government partners.
• Attend meetings in regions (in person or virtual) representing the EHS unit.
• Lead ESF-6 team activities at SEOC during exercises and events.
• Support disaster recovery centers and post-disaster planning efforts.
• Participate in EMPG and SEMA exercises; train for EHS and FEMA Mass Care courses.
