Job summary

Hospital for Special Care seeks a Telemonitor Technician to provide continuous observation of assigned patients using the AvaSure system. The role involves verbal redirection of at-risk behavior and immediate escalation to nursing staff when necessary, while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting camera issues, documenting patient status, and communicating any concerns to the manager.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and understand directions in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Preferred: one year hospital experience.
• Preferred: Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant certification.
• Preferred: direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Signs into AvaSure monitoring system at start of shift and signs out at shift end.
• Provide dedicated observation of assigned patients with minimal distractions.
• Report patient behavior and camera issues to AvaSure manager or shift manager.
• Maintain documentation of all patients on monitor and share pertinent information with staff.
• Verbal redirection of patients via 2-way audio and escalate to nursing staff as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and environmental safety within the monitoring area.
