Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other healthcare professional. You will help with basic care, monitor vitals, and assist with daily activities. In this role you will sanitize rooms, document care accurately, and communicate changes to the nurse.

Qualifications

• Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
• Experience or training in patient care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, mobility, and hygiene.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse for changes or concerns.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Participate in hand-off communications of patient and department needs.
• Assist with patient transfers using safe techniques.
• Support patients in activities of daily living as independence allows.
