Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Mercy Health system seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Medical Telemetry Unit at The Jewish Hospital. The PCT provides direct patient care under RN supervision, conducts vital signs, personal care, and mobility assistance, and communicates changes to the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents accurately and promptly for patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patient independence in activities of daily living.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and hobbies.
