Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Telemetry Unit at Memorial Regional Medical Center. The role supports RNs by sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with feeding and personal care.

You'll perform routine tasks, document care accurately, and help with patient transfers while fostering a compassionate, patient-centered environment. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with EPIC EHR training optional.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• Successful completion of nursing aide training program OR successful passing of STNA State Tested Nurse Aide OR CNA Certified Nurse Aide OR nursing program with clinical nursing course and rotation
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility; preference for applicable setting

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility assistance
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff
• Documents patient care accurately and timely
• Participates in hand-offs and reports for patient and department needs
• Assists with mobility using safe transfer techniques
• Encourages patient independence
• Individualizes care based on patient interests
