Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a Monitor Technician to observe telemetry, document ECG patterns, and promptly notify nursing staff of abnormalities.

The role requires high school education, basic computer skills, and strong English communication. Candidates should be willing to work a day-weekend schedule, with potential overtime; prior hospital telemetry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Monitor technician experience or completion of AdventHealth Monitor Technician training.
• Must read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Flexible to work weekends, nights and overtime as required.
• Preferred hospital monitor experience and infection control familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Observe monitors, document normal/abnormal EKG patterns and alert nursing staff.
• Maintain monitor alarms as per policy and ensure audibility each shift.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and documentation.
• Learn and upgrade skills; support department quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; sanitize and store equipment.
• Communicate patient status effectively with the healthcare team.
• Assist in ongoing education and training to stay current with practices.
• Complete Virtual Patient Observation training and competency checks.
