Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Monitor Technician in Tampa, FL to support telemetry monitoring and patient safety. You will observe EKG patterns, document findings, and promptly notify nursing staff of any abnormalities, while maintaining alarms and supporting quality initiatives.

The role requires basic medical terminology knowledge, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights as needed. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ monitor tech experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates behavior that aligns with the company's core values.
• Documents in accordance with department policy and maintain telemetry logbook.
• Observes monitors, recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal EKG patterns, and promptly notify nursing staff of any abnormalities.
• Maintains monitor alarms per policy, verifies that alarms are set and audible every shift, and troubleshoots monitors as needed.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities, demonstrating accurate documentation and monitoring of activities, and supporting departmental quality standards and initiatives.
