Job summary

Great River Health Systems in West Burlington, IA is seeking a Patient Care Technician (CNA) for the Telemetry Unit. This part-time role covers 12 hours per week with shifts including 6:30am–7:00pm and every other weekend.

You will provide bedside care under a licensed nurse, perform routine assessments, and assist with ADLs in a fast-paced cardiac/telemetry setting. The ideal candidate has CNA training (or in progress) and possesses computer skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of CNA course or completion within four months of hire.
• Computer experience required.
• Healthcare experience within the last five years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer patients' call lights promptly and fulfill requests.
• Perform skin assessments and report abnormalities to the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain clean patient rooms.
• Collect and label specimens and transport to treatment areas.
• Monitor intake/output and vital signs; report changes to staff.
• Assist in transfers, admissions, and discharges.
• Operate office equipment and telemetry systems.
• Document activities in the medical record in a timely manner.
